Simmba is a potboiler that you expect it to be, where the good surely outweighs the bad. There are enough paisa vasool moments including the cameo by the original Singham, Ajay Devgn.
At first go, the film makes you light and easy, which is good, but the problem is that it doesn’t really take you on that flight of entertainment, which you set out for.
The movie certainly looks world-class, the writing doesn’t always live up to the expectations. It’s Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s star power that really saves the day for this magnum opus.
Apart from the stray funny moments and consistently good visuals, TOH doesn’t really have the punch or the thrill that is required to pull off a film of this scale. It feels a little too long, blame it on weak editing.
